Cerec Technology
Crowns, veneers, onlays or inlays in just 1 visit,
instead of the usual 2 visits over 2 weeks!

How does this technology work?

The dentist will prepare your tooth in the normal way, except instead of taking impressions to take an impression of your tooth, the dentist will take a digital image using a special camera. This image is converted into 3D computerised model of your tooth. The dentist will then use this image as a guide to design your new restoration. Once designed the data is sent to an onsite milling machine which fabricates the restoaration from a ceramic block. The milling process is quick , taking up to only 30 minutes. TThe dentist is able to choose a ceramic block in a shade and colour to match your surrounding teeth. Once the ceramic block has been milled into the restoration it can be stained to match the surrounding teeth in colour before it is finished with a polish or glaze. The new restoaration is then ready to be cemented into the prepared tooth.
  • 1 visit - only 1 visit to the dentist is required instead of the usual 2 or 3 visits.
  • 1 set of local anaesthetic injections - As you only require 1 dental visit, you will only need 1 set of injections.
  • Your dentist designs the restoration- the restoration is designed and fabricated by your dentist, whereas a crown made in a laboratory is under the control of the technician.
  • No temporary restorations - When restorations are made in a laboratory, you require temporary crowns and veneers while you wait for your new teeth to be made. These temporaries often fall off and cause problems . CEREC avoids this inconvenience.

The CEREC Acronym
  • Chairside:  The technology is in the dental operatory and used while you are in the chair
  • Economical:  The procedure is economical for both dentist and patient
  • Restorations:  The procedure restores your tooth to its natural beauty, function, and strength
  • of Esthetic:  The restorations are metal-free and tooth-colored
  • Ceramic:  High-strength ceramics are used that are close in composition to your natural tooth structure

How much does this cost?

CEREC crowns cost from £425 per tooth. We do offer interest free finance to help spread the cost of your treatment.
